Catholic Youth Parramatta (CYP) in partnership with the CSPD Mission Team facilitated the LIFTED Jnr event for Stage 3 students yesterday 14th May at WestHQ in Rooty Hill. It was a day of fellowship and prayer with music, testimony, and discussion. The theme was 'Hope' which provided for a rich encounter with the word of Jesus Christ in Scripture and its message for our youth of today. We are proud to have been represented by a selected group of Year 5 students who actively engaged and participated in this day of formation. Over the coming days, these students will share their learning and experience at Lifted Junior with the rest of their grade and our community. Thank you to their parents for their assistance on the day and with transportation.

St. Angela’s join the Catholic community locally and globally in prayer as we mourn the loss of a fearless and prophetic pastor who has unhesitatingly preached the Gospel and reminded the church that it must always reform itself and be close to ordinary people – especially the poor, the suffering and the marginalised. Our students and staff are continually inspired to live by Pope Francis' teaching especially in his message through Laudato Si - caring for each other and our common home. The Diocesan Mass for Pope Francis will be held this Sunday 27 April (the culmination of the Easter Octave) at the 11am Solemn Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta. All are warmly invited to attend. Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv will celebrate the Mass, and it will also be livestreamed on St Patrick’s Cathedral YouTube channel. For anyone wishing to write condolence messages, the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference is organising a condolence book to pass on to the Apostolic Nuncio to Australia, Archbishop Charles Balvo, who was appointed Nuncio by Pope Francis in 2022. Please email your message to condolencebook@catholic.org.au.
